In 2020, as were the vast majority of events in Australia, the Community Achievement Awards held online events.
Whilst many regional locations – and some metro locations, like Perth and Darwin especially – largely escaped the lockdowns due to COVID, events were still severely impacted and restrictions on how many guests could attend were very common.
But for 2021, we are back to in-person events and celebrating our community champions with Gala Dinner Presentation events to acknowledge the nominees and finalists, as well as announcing the winners.
We’ve held the Gala Dinner events in WA and NT now, with our QLD event going ahead this coming Friday 5th November at Royal in the Park Brisbane.
For the NT event held at Doubletree by Hilton Esplanade in Darwin, we had 225 guests in what was only the second year of the NT Community Achievement Awards, a 20% increase on the inaugural event.
And in WA, our event held at the Hyatt Perth was attended by over 300 guests, with the vast majority travelling from regional Western Australia.

The Community Achievement Awards are held in each state and territory of Australia (ACT is combined with NSW) so with two down and QLD soon to follow, we will close 2021 with the SA event on 20th November and the TAS event on 3rd December.
We will then hold our VIC and NSW events in early 2022 as COVID related restrictions in those states continue to ease.
