Queensland Young Achiever Awards

I am delighted to be Patron of the Queensland Young Achiever Awards 2016–2017.

The Palaszczuk Government values the contributions young people make to our community and I am pleased to be involved in recognising their amazing achievements through the Queensland Young Achiever Awards.

As Minister for Youth, I value what young people have to say, and I am always looking for ways we can better engage with young Queenslanders to give them a voice to inform and influence policy and programs relevant to them.

Young people should play a strong role in shaping the future of our state. Our Government is committed to supporting young people to be able participate in Queensland’s social, economic and cultural life and achieve positive outcomes for themselves and the community.

It is also important to recognise the leadership, dedication, and commitment to community we have already seen among a number of young Queenslanders. It is always a great pleasure to support initiatives such as the Young Achiever Awards that celebrate Queensland’s young people.
