Victorian Young Achiever Awards
Every day, young people across Victoria are going out of their way to help make their community a better place. Whether it’s through making outstanding voluntary contributions, showing exceptional leadership, or in the fields of fashion, design and the arts, these young people deserve to be recognised for the role they play.
It is an honour to be Patron of the Victorian Young Achiever Awards and to acknowledge and celebrate the leadership and achievements of young people who are making a real difference to other people’s lives in Victoria.
The Andrews Labor Government is a proud supporter of the Victorian Young Achiever Awards because every young person deserves the opportunity to participate fully in the community and economic life of our state. They also deserve our recognition for their outstanding contributions.
Our Government is listening to young people and making sure they are part of the decision making process. The Youth Policy: Building Stronger Youth Engagement in Victoria demonstrates our commitment to engaging with young people and embedding their voices in building an even better Victoria.
In 2018, I am delighted to once again sponsor the Victorian Government’s Group Achievement in the Community Award. Through this award, we acknowledge young people who have come together as a group to make positive, youth-led changes in their local communities.
As Minister for Youth Affairs, I encourage Victorians to nominate those extraordinary young people for the 2018 Victorian Young Achiever Awards, so that we can recognise and celebrate their positive achievements and contributions to our state.
