As the Minister for Youth, it is my great pleasure to once again serve as patron for the 7NEWS WA Young Achiever Awards.

These awards shine a spotlight on the passion, leadership and dedication of young West Australians who are making meaningful contributions in their workplaces, educational institutions and communities.

Young people continue to inspire us through their innovation, their courage to continually question traditional methods, and their willingness to take bold risks. Whether they are advocating for social change, volunteering their time to support others, excelling in academic and professional pursuits, or finding creative solutions to complex challenges, the achievements of our young West Australians deserve to be recognised and celebrated.

I extend my sincere congratulations to all nominees and finalists who join us this evening. Your efforts have already made a significant impact, and you should be incredibly proud of all that you have achieved.

I also acknowledge the families, mentors, colleagues and educators who encourage and nurture these outstanding young individuals. The successes of tonight’s young achievers are a reflection of the support and encouragement provided by those around them.

If you are a guest attending this awards ceremony, I do not doubt that you will leave this evening inspired by the brilliant initiatives and contributions of our State’s young people. If you are a nominee and a finalist, I wish you the very best and look forward to seeing the continued impact you are sure to make in Western Australia.
